(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Acclaimed Show Dog recording artist Krystal Keith is finishing work on an EP of new music and planning a return to touring next year after a two-year break from the road. In the meantime, a duet with label mate Lance Carpenter titled “Anyone Else” will be released soon.

“We’re in the planning phase,” Keith says when pressed about a release schedule. “I’m really ready for the fans to have something new.” She has good reason for pulling back from the road life – her daughter Hensley, now two years old. “I’ve been writing a lot and recording several songs – really focusing on my music, just not as much in public.”

That’s all about to change with the upcoming release of “Anyone Else,” the first new music from Krystal since her critically acclaimed debut album Whiskey & Lace (2013). “Lance and I wrote a few songs together, got along really well and worked well together, so when he brought this song to my attention, the stars really aligned,” she says. “We’re on the same page, musically, and the track came out great, so it will be fun to get this out there.”

As for the grit, soul and edge Whiskey & Lace made her known for, Keith says don’t expect that to change. “I’ve noticed a difference in what people think I should be writing,” she says. “They’ll say, ‘I bet you’re writing lullabies or songs about your daughter.’ But I still get inspired from just about everywhere.

“Not everyone has the opportunity to spend time with their newborn, and I knew in country music the fans would understand me wanting to really soak that in,” she concludes. “I don’t take that for granted and now I’m more than ready to get back in the groove with new music and new shows.”
