FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                                 April 14, 2014

Exclusive Song “I’m Gone” Available Today; Precedes Upcoming Album Love Yourself

(Los Angeles) – With the purchase of any piece of Lukas Nelson & P.O.T.R. merchandise, available on their website at, fans will receive a previously unreleased song – a free MP3 download of the brand new track “I’m Gone.” The offer is available as of today, and comes ahead of the band’s upcoming new album, Love Yourself, which is being readied for release.

“We would like to give the fans a live studio track from some sessions at John Avila’s Studio Brando’s Paradise! It’s a song I wrote a long time ago about the life I live, and we wanted to let the fans have it for free when they purchase a piece of merchandise! Thanks to all the folks out there who support us,” says Nelson.

“I’m Gone” is an upbeat rocker that chugs along with the group’s trademark feel-good brand of gritty rock and roll over killer guitar riffs and an instantly infectious snarky chorus of “Baby, I’m gone. Leave me the f*@# alone.”

The song also talks about people they encounter who are interested in the group because of Lukas and Micah’s father, legend Willie Nelson. Sings Nelson, “You met my daddy back in ’73. You drank his whiskey; you were smoking his weed. People want to know me because they think they’re going back in time.” Likewise, he sings, “It’s all about a name and it’s a game that isn’t worth my time.” The song clocks in at 4:20 and was written by Nelson and his brother Micah, who also plays acoustic guitar on the song.

Lukas Nelson & P.O.T.R. has also finally put a name to their forthcoming third full-length album – Love Yourself. A release date for the new release will be announced shortly.

Meanwhile, the group continues to rack up miles on the road with dates that currently run through April, but more shows will be added. They just performed at Willie Nelson’s show at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles on April 2, and will be appearing at the 11th Annual Stuart House Benefit at the John Varvatos store in Los Angeles on April 13. Stuart House is a program of the Rape treatment Center that helps sexually abused children, and is part of the Rape Foundation.

City Weekly (Salt Lake City, Utah) recently chose a Lukas Nelson & P.O.T.R. show as their live pick of the week, as well. The publication wrote, “Lukas Nelson’s reedy, powerful voice might sound uncannily like his legendary old man’s, but the music produced by the California vocal/guitarist and his three-man backing band is like nothing Willie has ever made. A groovy but hard-hitting combination of Southern-fried rock and jam-band elements—bongos, chimes—Lukas Nelson & P.O.T.R. play with high amounts of energy and pizzazz.”

At Willie Nelson’s standout performance at the iTunes Festival SXSW in Austin, Texas in March, Lukas fronted a rendition of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Texas Flood,” while Willie’s sister Bobbie Nelson performed on “Down Yonder.” A free stream of that show can be accessed at
