Rising Country Star Robby Johnson Makes A Musical Resolution For 2015
(NASHVILLE, TN)- Country singer/songwriter Robby Johnson isn’t wasting any time as he heads into the new year with the resolution to “find the best country songs out there” for his forthcoming new album. The Canadian-born, Nashville-based artist is currently meeting with the genre’s top producers and songwriters for his debut album.
“My New Year’s resolution for 2015 is to get my album done!” laughs Johnson. “We’re getting great songs from all the songwriters so we should have incredible music to add my next album. But, my resolution is also to take the time to appreciate life and be thankful for all that I have, like having a wonderful family and great people around me.”
Johnson has a lot to be thankful for on the musical front as well. In 2014, he performed his song, “South of Me” on Late Show With David Letterman, saw the music video for the track near the 3 million mark on YouTube and top CMT Pure’s 12-Pack Countdown an impressive seven times. He also drew the praise of the music media – Billboard called him “romantic, delightful, warm, and inviting.” Music News Nashville describes Johnson as, “soulful and simmering.” Roughstock declared the artist “a singer well equipped for stardom.” And, Country Outfitter Style wrote, “With a voice like this and the looks of David Beckham, it’s time we all got to know Robby Johnson.”
Those “looks of David Beckham” turned the heads of the fashion press this past Fall when he walked the red carpet at the 48th Annual CMA Awards wearing a DSquared2 shirt, jacket, and jeans and John Varvatos boots. Johnson was featured in USA Today, The Tennessean, TV Guide, AOL, Celebrity Life, ABC Eyewitness News Los Angeles, and other major media outlets.
Meanwhile, Johnson – who has a distribution deal with Sony RED Distribution – is in the midst of putting together dates for the U.S. and Europe for 2014 with a stop in France for a not-yet-revealed project with Amazon TV Networks.
