(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Because filling venues nationwide in 2016 wasn’t enough, the Toby Keith Interstates & Tailgates is back for a full course of music-fueled partying in 2017. Kicking off this year’s leg with sold out shows in Oklahoma and California, the singer-songwriter and entertainer announced today the addition of his return to Nashville for a headlining show after a 13-year absence. The July 20 date at the Ascend Amphitheater will go on sale on Wednesday, June 28 at 10:00am. Tickets will be available at or charge by phone at (800) 745-3000. All tickets are subject to applicable service charges and event time and date are subject to change. All shows at the Ascend Amphitheater are Rain or Shine. For more information go to,

With 30 more dates on the itinerary that will continue through summer (and more to be added), the tour also heralds upcoming new music – Keith’s first since 2015’s critically acclaimed 35 MPH Town. Released on June 23, “Wacky Tobaccy,” written with longtime collaborator Scotty Emerick, is now available at all major digital music retailers and services. Out the same day is a music video for the song featuring a guest appearance by Willie Nelson, Mac McAnally, and Emerick.

“Wacky Tobaccy is a slogan, a saying that’s been around forever and no one has ever written it in a song,” says Keith. “The song is written to the screws, and it fits in with what we do every night with the party crowd.”

As the tour started, Toby stayed in his native Oklahoma to attend to the important matter of his 14th Annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic in Norman, Oklahoma that raised $1.6 million, a record breaking amount for a single event in the Toby Keith Foundation’s history.

The new tour follows a busy 2016, which included major media appearances and performances like the 10th Annual ACM Honors on CBS. That performance honored his friend Glen Campbell, while Keith’s performance on the American Country Countdown Awards honored his hero, the late Merle Haggard. Meanwhile, the original Harrah’s Las Vegas location of Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill celebrated its 10th anniversary with a multimillion dollar renovation and grand reopening party, which Keith attended.

Most recently, Keith performed at Sing Me Back Home: The Music Of Merle Haggard April 6 in Nashville, and at Carnegie Hall for The Cake And The Rain: A Celebration Of The Music Of Jimmy Webb May 5 in New York City where he performed Webb’s classic, “MacArthur Park.” Keith just returned from performing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This marked the first trip for Keith in the country, where he was also the first non-Arabic artist to perform a public show.
