WATERLOO REVIVAL’S NEW SINGLE STEPS UP: “WHAT GUY WOULDN’T”

Summer Boasts Full Schedule Including Toby Keith Dates

Waterloo Revival – George Birge and Cody Cooper

(NASHVILLE via AUSTIN) Picture early summer, Austin’s San Marcos River is dotted with young people floating and enjoying the day. A girl catches a guy’s eye and he just has to ask her out. What guy wouldn’t? That’s the question Austin’s own Waterloo Revival is asking with their new single, out soon on Show Dog Nashville.

The duo of George Birge and Cody Cooper connected immediately with “What Guy Wouldn’t,” which was written by David Lee Murphy (“Dust On The Bottle,” “Big Green Tractor”), John King (Randy Houser’s “We Went”), Jason Massey (co-producer for Kelsea Ballerini) and Ken Tondre. Already, the “infectious” song is earning the duo praise for showcasing talent “too big to be ignored” (Digital Journal).

George and Cody met and began writing songs together in middle school, but went their separate ways for college. Birge stayed home to attend the University of Texas and would connect with Cooper on his weekend trips home. Finally, George convinced his friend to stay and commit to their music. They chose a name reflecting the original moniker of their hometown and channeled their entrepreneurial musicianship into more writing sessions, commuting to Nashville over the next year to hone their craft and acquaint themselves with Music City.

Signed to Show Dog Nashville, they earned an opening slot on Toby Keith’s 2016 nationwide tour and quickly made waves with “Backwood Bump.” The song saw rotation on ESPN’s College Game Day and was the soundtrack to a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in-game dance routine while name-checking “Uptown Funk,” Siri, the Nae Nae, back porch halogens and home-brewed hooch.

Kicking off this summer, Waterloo Revival captivated audiences and fans during CMA Music Fest. In addition to media interviews and holding a signing booth session, they performed on the Walk of Fame Stage, WZTV’s “Fox 17 This Morning,” and did an interactive Facebook Live Q&A session.
