To American Farmers Via His Farm Aid Foundation

Willie’s Remedy+ is now available at DrinkWillies.com

AUSTIN, Texas – When you think of the legendary Willie Nelson, the first thoughts that pop up are usually his trademark braids and bandana, a stellar seven-decades-long musical career, Farm Aid and his support of the American farmer, and, of course, his love of marijuana.

Nelson has been turning that lifelong love and advocacy of cannabis into quite the business, as an early pioneer in the industry with his nationally distributed Willie’s Reserve and Willie’s Remedy brands. And now the iconic singer/songwriter. and cannabis entrepreneur, has launched a new offering, Willie’s Remedy+, the first product in a new line of hemp derived THC-infused drinks. The new product launch sold out of its first run in less than a month this March. The drink provides a hemp based alcohol alternative that comes with low calories, low sugar content, a quick onset time (usually under 15 minutes), a user-friendly lasting time (averaging 1-1.5 hours), and avoids the hangover that can come with alcohol consumption.

Willie’s Remedy+ is specially crafted to be the ultimate alcohol alternative, providing everything people enjoy about drinking — that euphoric, fun, uplifting social buzz, but with none of the negative side effects. With a subtle lemon-lime and passionfruit taste, Willie’s Remedy+ includes 5mg of hemp derived THC, 2mg CBD, 2mg CBG, and 200mg L-Theanine per 1.5oz shot to create a feeling of calm, clarity, euphoria, and relaxation. With its modern mixology, Willie’s Remedy+ is not that feared edible you ate too much of in college.

To make it a great summer mocktail, the company’s mixologist suggests a few pairing options, such as sparkling water with a splash of fresh lime, flavored sodas such as pineapple, mango, and passionfruit, or coconut water with a slice of citrus. The product is also vegan, gluten-free, and keto-friendly.

Nelson’s been a dedicated advocate for the mental and physical health benefits of marijuana. “The biggest killer on the planet is stress, and I still think the best medicine is and always has been cannabis,” explains the 12-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist, who co-authored a cookbook with his wife, Willie and Annie Nelson’s Cannabis Cookbook: Mouthwatering Recipes and the High-Flying Stories Behind Them, last November. “I gave up drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco a long, long time ago and switched to cannabis. I think hemp should be recognized for what it is, as a remedy–an herb that grows in the ground. If you need it, use it. More and more people are finding out the benefits, and the more they delve into it and research it, the more they realize, ‘Hey, wait a minute, we should give this another look.’ I’m excited to share my remedy with the world!”

Nelson also continues his longtime support for farmers by proudly sourcing the finest natural ingredients grown in the USA by American hemp farmers and giving back 1% of all sales directly to those farmers through Nelson’s own Farm Aid Foundation.

This summer, the brand will roll out more ready-to-drink hemp derived THC-infused seltzers along with line extensions at both 5mg and 10mg. Both the hemp derived THC-infused social tonics in 750ml bottles and the hemp derived THC-infused seltzers in 12 oz 4-packs will be available via wholesale and retail distribution across a handful of southern states this spring, including Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Florida.

Willie’s Remedy+ comes to life through a partnership between Long Play, Inc. and JuneShine Brands, which are providing a set of services, including distribution, sales, operations, and marketing to fuel the brand’s growth and innovation. It joins Willie Nelson’s other cannabis brands currently sold nationwide, including his iconic Willie’s Reserve and Willie’s Remedy marijuana and CBD brands, which are consumer favorites with over $400 million in products sold nationally.

Throughout 2023, Willie celebrates his 90th birthday with multiple projects and events including a two-night star-studded concert at the famed Hollywood Bowl, Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90, that was released as a feature film and a televised broadcast special. The year began with the debut of “Wille Nelson & Family,” a new five-part film documentary series directed by Thom Zimny and Oren Moverman that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival as well as the release of a new album, I Don’t Know a Thing About Love, which features 10 performances that pay tribute to American songwriter Harlan Howard. Last year also welcomed two new releases: the GRAMMY nominated album, Bluegrass (with newly recorded studio performances of 12 Willie Nelson-penned classics showcasing Willie with a bluegrass ensemble), and a new book, Energy Follows Thought (with stories behind the lyrics of 160 of his favorite songs, along with never-before-seen photos and ephemera). To cap the momentous year, Nelson was inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In 2024, Nelson expanded his depth of work with the release of two new albums and a new book. The month of May saw the arrival of the studio album The Border, which includes Willie’s versions of 10 contemporary country songs, and four new compositions with Buddy Cannon. And in November he released a cookbook co-authored with his wife, Willie and Annie Nelson’s Cannabis Cookbook: Mouthwatering Recipes and the High-Flying Stories Behind Them as well as another studio album, Last Leaf on the Tree, which features close collaborations with Nelson’s son Micah. For 2025, Nelson is set to release a new studio album, Oh What A Beautiful World, on April 25. The 12-song collection features new Nelson performances of classic Rodney Crowell compositions. These creative endeavors as well as new songs and performances that add to his classic catalog, find Willie Nelson rolling at an artistic peak, writing and singing and playing with the seasoned wit and wisdom that comes from the road.
